QNu Labs and VIAVI Partner to Accelerate Quantum-Safe Network Security

(VIAVI) (NASDAQ: VIAV), a leading provider of network test, monitoring, and assurance solutions. This collaboration will accelerate the development of advanced quantum security and network intelligence technologies—marking the first phase in forming a global industry consortium to enable open innovation in quantum-safe communication across sectors and research communities.
As the world transitions toward quantum-safe computing, resilient and efficient system architectures have become essential - especially at the optical layer, where quantum communication meets physical network infrastructure. QNu Labs and VIAVI will jointly focus on transforming quantum science from lab-based innovation to trusted, field-deployable solutions.
The partnership will deliver industry-defined test cases and certification mechanisms for quantum-safe technologies, including post-quantum cryptography (PQC), quantum key distribution (QKD), quantum random number generation (QRNG), and hybrid PQC-QKD systems. Together, the organizations will create practical frameworks and reference architectures to secure deployments across telecom, finance, defense, aerospace, government, and enterprise networks.
By aligning with standards from NIST, ETSI, and other global quantum-safe initiatives, this alliance will advocate for harmonized approaches to crypto-agility, crypto-resilience, and secure orchestration across hybrid infrastructures. The partnership will also establish guidelines for integrating quantum-safe algorithms into core, RAN, transport, edge, and cloud network layers—ensuring smooth interoperability with existing classical systems.
