QNu Labs and Quantum Blockchains Successfully Demonstrate Quantum-Secured Blockchain Technology

Press Release | QNU Labs and Quantum Blockchains

Quantum Blockchains, an innovative European startup dedicated to enhancing the security of blockchain technology and accelerating the adoption of quantum cryptography is thrilled to announce a remarkable achievement in our collaboration with QNu Labs, an industry-leading quantum cryptography hardware and software solutions provider based in Bangalore, India.

Leveraging Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) technology, Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), and Quantum Random Number Generators (QRNG), we have completed the development of our proprietary Quantum Secured Blockchain (QSB). This was achieved by the integration of QNu Labs' Armos (QKD) devices into our QKD network topology.

The experimental run with Armos spanned over a week. During this timeframe, tens of thousands of keys were generated which led to the creation of thousands of blocks and hundreds of transactions on the QSB. This significant milestone sets a robust foundation for the practical application of quantum security measures for blockchain technology.

Alongside QNu Labs' Armos devices, Quantum Blockchains also utilized our pioneering pQKD (Post-Quantum Key Distribution emulators) and the proprietary msQRNG entropy generator, integrated within the pQKD product. Our PQC Dilithium Crystal algorithm, implemented in the Rust language was also deployed, an accomplishment also achieved in collaboration with the Warsaw-based Resquant company. The QSB is best described in the whitepaper:

Speaking of this monumental achievement, Dr. Mirek Sopek, the CEO of Quantum Blockchains stated: "This is a significant step forward in the practical application of quantum cryptography for blockchain technology which has seen vulnerabilities of encryption keys. Our successful partnership with QNu Labs and Resquant has allowed us to demonstrate the immense potential of a Quantum Secured Blockchain applied today in real-world scenarios.”

Sunil Gupta of QNu Labs added, “We are pleased to have our Armos (QKD) devices play a crucial role in this innovative venture. The success of this collaboration underscores the transformative potential of quantum cryptography in securing blockchain technology and we are seeing lots of interest from blockchain companies to leverage the unique power of quantum cryptography to make their encryption keys unhackable.

Quantum Blockchains and QNu Labs are committed to advancing their cooperative efforts in exploring and developing the immense potential of quantum cryptography.
